FACTS

Its parent institution was set up by the National Council of Education, Bengal in 1906.

After India's Independence, the institution was converted to a University under the first Jadavpur University Act in 1955, and recognised by the University Grants Commission the same year .

Jadavpur University has been declared as the Centre of Excellence in Mobile Computing and Communication by the University Grants Commission.

The university has also been accredited with the status of 5 star by the National Assessment and Accreditation Committee(NAAC).
